Yes. The scooter can be used without its battery, however, we do not recommend the battery be left unused or in a flat state for long periods of time as this can cause degradation in performance of the unit

Yes. Different surfaces can affect the battery length so your VIRO Ride may need charging sooner if the terrain you’re riding on is particularly rough or bumpy. See our Safety Page for more details.

Our scooters will run for approximately 6 miles depending on the weight of the rider and the terrain it is being used upon. This translates to approximately 40 minutes of run time.

The battery takes around 10-12 hours to fully charge from empty. Please note that the battery must be charged to full capacity before first use to ensure optimum performance and longevity of the unit. The battery life may be compromised if these steps are not followed.

Our Vega and VR550E models have a maximum speed of up to 10mph.

No. Both the Vega and VR550E models include a throttle on the handlebars which will control the acceleration of the bike.

The range of the battery life will depend on the terrain in which the scooter is being used, the weight of the rider and the charge of battery however from full charge and if ridden on a smooth surface – the battery should last up to 40 minutes.

Suitability

Our Vega and VR550E models are suitable from 8+ years and have a maximum weight limit of 120lbs (54kg).

Scooter Setup and Specification

Both our Vega and VR550E scooters have solid PVC tyres. These do not need inflation and therefore never go flat.

The scooter comes complete with a 12V charger and a rechargeable battery pack. It is recommended that you only use an approved VIRO Rides charger. Please get in touch with our Customer Services Team for replacement chargers.

The handlebars for our Vega model does adjust to 2 heights however the VR550E model is static and cannot be adjusted.

The handlebars are 36” (91cm) from the floor to the top of the handlebars.

Our Vega and VR550E scooters weigh approximately 29lbs (13kg).

Our Vega model will fold for ease of storage and transportation however the VR550E model does not fold down.

CONVERTING YOUR SCOOTER INTO A BIKE OR FROM BIKE TO SCOOTER COULDN’T BE EASIER. SIMPLY PUSH IN THE RED BUTTON ON THE BASE OF THE HANDLEBARS WHICH WILL UNLOCK THE BASE OF THE SCOOTER ALLOWING YOU TO ROLL IT UP THE STEM OF THE HANDLEBARS. THE SEAT CAN THEN BE LIFTED, AND THE GREY PLATE EXTENDED OUT TO ENSURE IT STAYS IN PLACE. YOU CAN ALSO COLLAPSE THE FOOT PEGS ABOVE THE REAR WHEEL TO REST YOUR FEET ON WHEN RIDING (OLDER MODELS MAY HAVE FOOT PEGS AT THE FRONT OF BIKE). PLEASE REFER TO OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE WHEN CONVERTING YOUR SCOOTER TO BIKE MODE.

The main point of difference between the two scooters is the flexibility to change from a scooter to a bike on our VEGA model with a simple ‘flick of a switch’. Take a look at our handy comparison chart for more details on speed, range and other key features.

Follow the simple steps to setting up your VIRO Rides Scooter using the instruction manual included in your package. If your prefer something more visual – our assembly video on YouTube provides a visual version of how to setup your scooter in around 15-20 minutes. PLEASE NOTE: For the best performance and care of your VIRO Rides scooter –the battery must be charged fully (10-12 hours) before first use.

Yes. Both our Vega and 550E models include brakes to either slow or stop the scooter from drive mode.

Setup of you scooter will take around 15-20 minutes to complete. While it does not arrive fully assembled, there are just a few short steps to follow to get your scooter up and running. You can use the manual included in your package or visit our You Tube Channel where you will find a range of videos which will guide you through setup.

The battery is a Sealed Lead Acid Battery.

All VIRO Rides scooters come complete with a limited warranty period of 6-months from date of purchase. The warranty does not include cover on VIRO Rides batteries. A 90 day warranty period is offered on spare parts (excluding batteries) from date of purchase. Please note that a valid receipt is required for all warranty claims.
